Job Overview

 

The candidate will be expected to fulfill to the best of their ability and in a manner consistent with generally accepted standards of prevailing medical practice the duties assigned by the Chair of Drexel Neurosciences Institute's Department of Neurology. Your duties will include teaching medical students, residents and/or fellows, clinical service and other duties as assigned by the department Chair. It is anticipated that approximately 90% of your assigned time will be dedicated to clinical service, including assisting in the Neurology Resident Outpatient Clinic. Approximately 10% of your time will be devoted to the education of medical students, residents and fellows and development of independent research activities.  

 

Qualifications

 

BE/BC Neurologist with certification in Clinical Neurophysiology or other added qualification in EEG and EMG and licensed or eligible to be licensed in Pennsylvania. 



Current DEA license number.  

 

Essential Functions

 

Must have the ability to provide excellent patient care and build a neurology practice specializing in Neurophysiology (EEG and EMG). EEG readings will be an integral part of the job responsibilities. Routine duties include providing comprehensive history and physical exams, appropriate orders for diagnostic testing, evidence based diagnosis and management, prescribe appropriate medications and therapeutic interventions. The ideal candidate must have the ability to support the residency program, and have the ability to enhance his/her research efforts by obtaining external funding.
