The Department of Neurosciences at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) ( is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and is seeking an an Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia disorders clinician-investigator at the Associate or Full Professor level.


The position includes a leadership role in the NIH-funded Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) and support from the Riford Endowed Chair. We seek to recruit an individual with clinical and research interests in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia disorders. The candidate will work with a large group of clinicians and scientists at the ADRC and in the Department of Neurosciences.


Candidates must have an MD and/or PhD degree and a successful track record in clinical or basic Alzheimer’s disease research and a demonstrated ability to secure extramural funding to support research. MD candidates must be board eligible or board certified and have, or be eligible for, a California medical license. MD candidates must have completed Residency training, preferably in Neurology but other specialties may be considered, together with relevant fellowship training (or equivalent) related to dementia.


Appointment will be at the Associate or full Professor level. Series will include 100% Ladder Rank or 50% Ladder Rank and 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales. Startup funding will be available.
