If a physician scientist, Board eligible or certified in Neurology. Fellowship training or equivalent experience desirable.

 

MINIMUM NUMBER OF YEARS AND TYPE OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
Appropriate post-doctoral training is required. For physician scientists, Fellowship or advanced training or equivalent experience in research methodologies. Physician scientists will be committed to working with an active academic department with clinical, teaching and research responsibilities and will take a leadership role in clinical and research programs.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE:
If a neurologist, licensed or eligible for Wisconsin Medical Licensure and board certified or Board eligible in Neurology.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:
The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health invites applications for a tenure track position in the Departments of Neurology and Neuroscience. We seek outstanding candidates whose work has translational relevance and complements the expertise of members of both departments. The Department of Neurology includes strong programs in stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, dementia, neuromuscular disease, headache, multiple sclerosis and general neurology. The Department of Neuroscience includes strong research programs at the molecular, cellular and systems levels that focus on ion channels, synaptic transmission, developmental neurobiology, stem cell biology, neuroendocrinology, sensory neurobiology, sensorimotor integration and memory. Preference will be given to applicants who will be able to develop a productive, extramurally funded research program that bridges the interests of members of both departments. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the faculty rank.
